FLEET SAFETY COORDINATOR

We’re a successful fast growing company based in Louisville, Kentucky. We’re growing rapidly, undergoing a national expansion. In the past five years, we’ve grown from 60 employees to over 300. We’ve averaged 50% revenue growth each year over the past 6 years. We’re looking for an experienced Fleet Safety Coordinator to help play an important part in our growth. You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing plans when expanding a company. You'll experience the satisfying feeling of having your ideas immediately put into action -- no waiting for a committee or bureaucracy to approve them first.

Responsibilities

Duties Critical to Success:

  • Manages fleet maintenance program training, support and approvals including preventative maintenance compliance and follow-up;
  • This includes reviewing, approving or escalating vehicle repair requests and arranging towing or rental services as needed
  • Improves vehicle safety for the company through DOT compliance, the GPS program and common industry practices
  • Provides data analysis, report generation and information sharing across all regions including fuel reports, GPS reports, and maintenance reports
  • Serves in a project management capacity and leads process definition and evaluation while providing support and reporting for additional projects as needed
  • Maintaining all permits, licenses, registrations pertaining company fleet equipment
  • Researching, negotiating and maintaining purchasing and lease agreements when procuring company fleet equipment
  • Oversee proper use of fuel rations; maintain log and account for fuel
  • Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to disciplinary procedures and drivers’ orientation program

Qualifications

Job Standards and Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of transportation safety experience preferred
  • Demonstrated project management ability 
  • Vehicle leasing, logistics coordination, or fleet management experience required
  • Knowledge and understanding of DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to provide data analysis and build accurate, meaningful reports
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Detail oriented, and self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to multitask in a fast paced environment, handle change and make decisions independently
  • Promote a value based safety conscious environment through inspections, training and coaching
  • Technical and mechanical know how of commercial vehicles is an advantage

Compensation:  

 

Pay for this position will range from $42,000 to $47,000. As well as a 10% bonus potential per year. Salary is commensurate with experience. Pay raises are typically 8% on average  for those who apply themselves, and are promoted as they grow with the company.
