We’re a successful fast growing company based in Louisville, Kentucky. We’re growing rapidly, undergoing a national expansion. In the past five years, we’ve grown from 60 employees to over 300. We’ve averaged 50% revenue growth each year over the past 6 years. We’re looking for an experienced Director of Loss Prevention to help play an important part in our growth. You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing plans when expanding a company. You'll experience the satisfying feeling of having your ideas immediately put into action -- no waiting for a committee or bureaucracy to approve them first.

Duties Critical to Success:

  • Management of the loss prevention department
  • Partner with HR to coordinate or conduct internal investigations of problems such as employee theft and violations of corporate loss prevention policies
  • Manage the review compliance of any affected portion of the company's business ventures
  • Oversee all legal oversight and representation
  • Be a liaison to fellow department heads and upper management
  • Ensure and oversee employees are covered nationwide under state specific non-competes
  • Management of all research and record keeping to meet any new/revised state requirements
  • Organize and direct compliance to operational, safety, or inventory control procedures, including physical security standards
  • Compose and supervise new Standard Operating Procedures and policies as the company grows worldwide
  • Provide direct oversight of recommendations and solutions in crisis situations such as workplace violence, protests, and demonstrations
  • Manage and create systems and programs to reduce loss, maintain inventory control, or increase safety  
  • Identify potential for loss and develop strategies to eliminate it  
  • Direct inventory investigations in response to shrink results outside of acceptable ranges  
  • Oversee training of loss prevention staff on loss control and prevention measures
  • Supervise compliance to operational, safety, or inventory control procedures, including physical security standards
  • Direct loss prevention audit programs including target store audits, maintenance audits, safety audits, or electronic article surveillance (EAS) audits


Job Standards and Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree (in legal or loss prevention, or related field)
  • 10 years of loss prevention experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Excellent computer skills (it’s a plus if you can touch type) and proficient in excel, word
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing groups and major projects or initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction
  • Has an unwavering commitment to get the job done--isn’t easily discouraged
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • Delegates responsibilities effectively
  • Displays enthusiasm and sense of urgency to execute assignments

Pay for this position will range from $90,000 to $110,000, plus bonuses. Salary is commensurate with experience. Pay raises are typically 8% on average  for those who apply themselves, and are promoted as they grow with the company.
